LEAD SINGER- CALVIN RAY

Calvin Ray is from Mt. Washington, Ky. He's the featured singer at Calvin Ray's Live Music. Calvin is 30 and began singing at age 18. In his 11 years of singing Calvin has performed on National TV 6 times. In 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2003 & 2001 on the Jerry Lewis National Telethon in Las Vegas & Hollywood. In 2001 Calvin also sang at the ACM Golf Classic in Burbank, California at the Castaways Restaurant. Where he met Brad Paisley & Montgomery Gentry. In 2000 Calvin made it to the Kentucky State Finals of the Country Showdown. Before opening his music theater he sang at Music Theatres throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Nashville. Calvin has won many contests during his career some of which were at the Nashville Palace in Nashville. In June 2007 Calvin released his debut CD "Take That Chance". From 2007 - 2008 he released 3 singles in America and Europe. The 1st single called "Should've Been Singing Rock Of Ages" reached #8 on the ECMA Top 100 Chart in Sept. 2007. In Oct. 2007 he released his 2nd single "Clearwater Mississippi Rendevous". In Feb. 2008 he released his 3rd single "Say Hello To Heaven". In Aug. 26 2007 Calvin recieved the Epiphone Lifetime Achievement Award. He has appeared in TV Interviews, Magazines, Newspapers & a book they include CW Louisville Live, WBKO Hometown Hero, Quest Magazine, The Courier Journal, International Musicians Magazine, Country Music People & Kentucky's Everyday Heroes. On Sept. 7th 2009 Calvin sang on National TV for the 6th time on the Jerry Lewis MDA National Telethon in Las Vegas.

LEAD GUITAR- DENNIS ADKINS

Dennis Adkins is from Bowling Green, Ky. He is the Lead Guitarists at Calvin Ray's Live Music. Dennis has been a Guitar Player, Singer & Song Writer for over 30 years. He is a fantastic guitar player and a great song writer and singer. Dennis wrote one of George Strait's Biggest #1 Hits, ACE IN THE HOLE. His pickin and singing will have you rockin in your seat. Dennis was also a Lead Guitar Player for Mel Tillis for many years.

 

 

 

PIANO- KIRK JOHNSON

Kirk Johnson is from Morgantown, Ky. Kirk is the Keyboard Player at Calvin Ray's Live Music. Kirk has over 20 years of experience playing the piano and singing. He began playing the piano at the age of 10 and made his first public debut at age 16. Kirk is a master of the Keyboard. In addition to playing the piano Kirk is a wonderful singer.

 

 

 

 

BACKUP SINGER- MELISSA JOHNSON

Melissa Johnson is from Morgantown, Ky. Melissa is the main Backup Singer at Calvin Ray's Live Music. Melissa has over 25 years of experience as a singer.  She sang her first solo at age 8. She is one of the best singers around and she can harmonize with anyone. You'll enjoy her beautiful singing.

 

 

 

 

BASS GUITAR- MATT MCGEE

Matt McGee is one of Nashville's finest musicians! Matt is the Bass Player at Calvin Ray's Live Music. Currently he is a Studio Bassist and Producer. Spanning his 30 plus years as a full-time musician, he has played bass guitar live, recorded or televised (TV) with the following: Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, Tracy Lawrence, Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis, Hank Williams Jr., Jimmy Dean, Sylvia, Jimmy C. Newman, John Berry, Jeannie Sealy, Lynn Anderson, Josh Turner, Charlie Daniels Band, Linda Davis, TG Shepherd, Willie Nelson, Oak Ridge Boys, Calvin Ray, Darryl Singletary, Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krauss, Tammie Cochran, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Russell, Larry Gatlin, Vern Gosdin, Jack Greene, Jim Vest.

 

DRUMS- BEVERLY MCGEE

"Bev" has been a professional drummer and singer for over 30 years. Bev currently plays Drums at Calvin Ray's Live Music. From the hills of Virginia (Norton) to the stages of downtown Nashville's Broadway and world famous Printer's Alley, her vocal and drumming talents have spanned all genres. It doesn't hurt to have started at age 5 either. Bev has played drums with such artists as: Roni Stoneman, Johnny Rodriguez, Martha Carson, John Snider, Bill Monroe, Little Jimmy Dickens, Jerry Lee Lewis.
